h2>Discussion Forums -[
]- In Weeks One through Four you will participate in topic-related conversations with your classmates in discussion forums. These replace the interactive activities that occur during the face-to-face session in the classroom-based version of this course. Your initial discussion thread is due on Day 3 (Thursday). You then have until Day 7 (Monday) to respond to your classmates. Q: What is the "intellectual disposition" of the forum stuff? Ie, do we group-own it, does the Univ share in ownership, etc? My own view is that the authors are noted (and required in extract/citation), but that all material is placed in the public domain. Hmmmm - (ducks under towel and awaits pummeling...) GUIDELINE note: When I grade discussion boards I will look for an in-depth understanding of the material and some type of personal reflection that leads to discussion. Length is not a factor but content and relevance to the course are. -[post example]- Unacceptable Posting (for credit) 1. Recopying another person's idea without thoughts and/or research of your own is unacceptable. 2. Commenting on other's work is fine (wow, that was a great idea.) but is not an acceptable post for credit. {
